HOW I WORK
I provide therapy for couples and families wanting to find a better way to connect and enjoy their relationship as well as getting beyond the difficult patterns and any communications issues. The early stages of a relationship are often full of deep connection, romance, laughter, excitement and fun, swiftly followed by the ‘power struggle’.
This is when it’s all about right and wrong; good and bad; yes and no; you versus me. This ‘power struggle’ usually leaves us feeling disconnected, isolated, lonely, hurt and exhausted. We start asking ourselves questions like ‘What happened?’, ‘How did we get here?’ and ‘Is this relationship really for me?’ Which is probably why you’re here.
You’re trying to work out what to do and whether therapy can help. I work using a variety of approaches but the Imago approach is central to how I work with couples and families. It's through this method, that has helped the couples and families through the years. In our therapy sessions, we will work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behaviour. I will help you ‘’re-frame’’ your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles
IMAGO RELATIONSHIP THERAPY
I am trained in Imago Relationship Therapy, which provides a structured dialogue to help communication and provides a very safe, neutral, non-judgemental space. It is excellent at identifying key issues and resolving conflicts.
Imago teaches couples to increase the positive and diminish the negative. It restores connection and contact between two separate, distinct individuals with similarities and differences. Bringing parts of ourselves into consciousness and to the consciousness of another without judgement is what is healing.
YOUR SESSIONS
The first session takes place without any commitment on your part to continue the therapy. The aim is for us to meet, for you to learn about the way I work, and for us to see whether there is a fit, such that we can continue to work together. It is important to me that I get to know you both, and to assess whether I can be of assistance, according to your therapeutic aim.
During this first two-hour session you will also learn new skills for communicating with your partner or family member, experience the impact of the session, and gain a new understanding about your relationship. After this session, if you decide to continue working with me, I will tailor a specific process based on the goals you determine during the initial sessions.
Each follow up session lasts for 90 minutes. The duration of the therapy in total depends on the goals and circumstances of each couple or family that come and see me. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information.

All sessions are paid for at before each session by bank transfer. Missed or cancelled sessions without the 5 days notice given, are paid for by bank transfer. All sessions are 90 minutes from your appointment time.
